About

Becki Charles
Yoga Teacher, 33

Yoga flipped my life upside down in 2010 and it changed every aspect of me: physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally. It is one of those sneaky practices that changes you from the inside out.

After finishing my studies of International Development in university, I strapped a yoga mat to my backpack and set out to see the world. Backpacking through Southeast Asia, Europe, living in New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia. The world became my teacher, my yoga mat my school.

In 2014, I dove deeper travelling to Goa India for 200-hour teacher training at Kranti Yoga. I continued to study the art of yoga and completed 300-hour teacher training in Toronto at Octopus Garden Holistic Yoga Centre and Pre / Post Natal Yoga training at Downward Dog Yoga Centre in 2019.

My yoga roots lie in ashtanga, evolved through vinyasa, and now being blended by functional movement. My teaching comes from the heart, creating a safe for us to explore movement and breath together. Come to my classes for dynamic, breath driven, fluid flows. As a teacher, I hold space for students to find their own path through yoga.

When the pandemic hit, I quickly brought my classes online live through zoom as well as pre-recorded classes to enjoy on your own time. When I’m not on my mat, you can find me enjoying nature hiking with my dog Gili.
